This ThrowbackThursday photo was taken in 1958 at Beck & Pollitzer’s Wharf Department. As part of our shipping service, the company received imported goods from clients for further distribution.
The products (such as the canned goods shown here) would first be inspected for defects or damage. If found to be of a saleable standard, they would be labelled with the appropriate information by Beck & Pollitzer staff and packed safely in boxes ready for local and international redistribution.
Although Beck & Pollitzer no longer works with or distributes individual canned goods, the company still provides machinery relocation and installation services to both the FMCG and Canning, Paper and Packaging industries.
