Nissan UK Expansion 1980s
This week’s ThrowbackThursday shows a Beck & Pollitzer publication from the 1980s. This bold magazine featured a number of contemporary projects completed by the company, including—as you can see from the photo—an expansion for Nissan UK.
Nissan, a leading automotive client, contracted Beck & Pollitzer to install additional Bodyshop assembly lines and a power press at its UK plant in Sunderland. The project involved 105 personnel, plus additional sub-contractors. The team transported 1500 crates of machinery to the UK destination within 48 hours, thanks to successfully coordinating over 250 delivery vehicles. Once the deliveries had been made, the team then installed 130 robots and over 100 tons of steelwork on-site. Once the installation was complete, Beck & Pollitzer finished the project by providing checks and commissioning services to ensure customer satisfaction. It was certainly a project to remember.
Throughout the transformation of the Automotive landscape, today Beck & Pollitzer is supporting automakers and OEMs with their transition towards Electric Vehicles. Find out more on our Battery and Electrification webpage.
