Relocation of production machinery in Italy

Beck & Pollitzer Czech was nominated as the relocation contractor by our client IMI, a world leader in the design and manufacture of valves and hydraulic actuating systems for critical applications in petrochemical industries.

The main task of this relocation project was to relocate the production machines from their rented premises to a new production hall 20 kilometres away. To complete this project, our expert team undertook different aspects of the relocations such as dismantling, relocation, positioning, and levelling of 26 machines including 5-axis CNC machines, lathes, grinding, and forming machines.

A total of 19 operatives used various lifting tools and equipment such as 5T, 7T, and 8t FLT and 100t mobile cranes. The overall weight of the relocated equipment was 400 tonnes, and the heaviest piece was 85t Alexa Monti MMC 60 MCS 140. Photo courtesy of IMI company.

One of the main challenges which were faced by our team was the lack of support from the original equipment manufacturer of the main equipment (Alexa Monti) as the company was not operating anymore. Despite these challenges, the project was completed on time and with the full satisfaction of our client.
