This week’s ThrowbackThursday is from 1905. It shows a stand erected and decorated by Beck & Pollitzer for Elliott: an electrical instruments company (est. 1804) who were later known as the Elliott Brothers.
The stand displays a range of Elliott speedometers, which were considered pioneering work at the time. This range featured in many classic cars, including the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost (1908). As expected, the speedometers are now rare and rather valuable, available at auction for thousands a piece.
