A leading global automotive manufacturer recently inaugurated a major new electric vehicle (EV) assembly plant in Tamil Nadu, India – a strategic milestone in their international expansion. As part of this flagship project, Beck & Pollitzer was entrusted with the complete installation of the body shop structure and associated equipment, reinforcing our position as a trusted partner for large-scale machinery installation projects in the EV and battery sector.
Project scope: The scope of work was extensive and required precise planning, technical expertise, and seamless execution. Our team managed the unloading and unpacking of nearly 100 containers and 30 trucks, ensuring safe delivery and thorough quality checks of all components before installation.
Key elements of the scope included:
- Laser-tracked floor marking to ensure accuracy and layout precision.
- Positioning and installation of robots, fixtures, and supporting structures.
- Mechanical and electrical installation, including structural assembly, alignment and levelling, utility connections, and commissioning support.
This combination of mechanical installation and industrial electrical works was delivered to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Execution & delivery: To deliver this complex installation, Beck & Pollitzer deployed a dedicated team of 50 operatives, supported by experienced supervisors and a project manager. Using cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other specialist handling equipment, the team carried out the installation in a systematic and controlled manner.
The installation phase was completed in 2.5 months, followed by four weeks of commissioning, all under strict OEM and client supervision. Throughout the project, we adhered to our “Safety First” philosophy and maintained full compliance with site regulations.
