Electrical Installation for a Continuous Vulcanisation (CV) Line in Sweden

Supporting the global energy transition demands manufacturing infrastructure that is engineered for absolute reliability, especially where extra-high-voltage (EHV) subsea cables are concerned. Beck & Pollitzer Sweden was selected by a leading global subsea cable manufacturer to deliver the electrical installation for a new Continuous Vulcanisation (CV) Line in Karlskrona, Sweden.

The challenge: The electrical installation took place inside a purpose-built, 200-metre production tower (“Crown”), the second tallest building in Sweden. Working at height, in a live industrial environment, required disciplined planning, strict safety controls, and flawless execution. The CV Line’s performance depends on clean power distribution, robust signal integrity, and fire-safe routing, leaving no margin for error.

Our scope: Beck & Pollitzer delivered the end-to-end electrical scope for the line installation, applying proven methodologies aligned to precision engineering and safe working practices. Our approach reflects best practice across complex industrial environments, as outlined in our insight on essential components of industrial electrical installations. Our key activities included:

  • Segregation of power and signal cabling to maintain correct EMC performance and protect system stability
  • Digital cable verification and insulation testing to validate integrity and reduce commissioning risk
  • Installation of the Roxtec sealing system to support fireproof safety and controlled cable transits
  • Cabling of dynamic equipment (Pay-offs, Take-ups, Extruders) using energy chains to protect movement-critical runs and minimise wear

Main equipment interfaces: Our teams installed and integrated cable tray and cabling systems across major process equipment, including:

  • Extruders
  • Heating Transformers
  • Pay-offs and Take-ups
  • Accumulator
  • Caterpillars and Capstans

Results delivered: The project was completed successfully over 8 months, supported by 24/7 execution and mobilisation of up to 35 operatives on site. In total, the team managed approximately 1,500 cables pulled and connected, contributing to 22,000 project hours of delivery and collaboration across five countries. This was also the third successful Beck & Pollitzer project delivered at the same site, reinforcing our role as a trusted long-term partner.

Ready to de-risk your next critical installation?: If you’re planning a high-complexity electrical installation, whether for cable manufacturing, energy infrastructure, or advanced industrial production, Beck & Pollitzer can help you deliver safely, precisely, and on schedule.
