When a leading metals manufacturer launched a new Brownfield facility for Cold Rolling Mill and Finishing Line production, they required an experienced industrial installation partner capable of handling exceptional scale and precision. Beck & Pollitzer India was selected for this challenge, delivering one of the largest and most technically demanding projects in the company’s regional portfolio.
Project overview: This project involved the complete mechanical installation of over 6250 tonnes of equipment, 375 Km of electrical cabling and 1lakh metres of precision piping. The installation included critical assets such as the Cold Rolling Mill, Thick Gauge Slitter, Thin Gauge Slitter, Roll Grinder, Coil Packaging Line, High Speed EOT Cranes and multiple Annealing Furnaces – each demanding highly controlled alignment and safety standards.
Working in close collaboration with the client and OEM engineers, Beck & Pollitzer provided end-to-end industrial installation services, covering:
- Mechanical works: Unloading, unpacking, positioning, and precise levelling of all machinery and auxiliaries, including mill baseplate alignment to within 30 microns. Hydraulic torquing of mill housings up to 4650 KN ensured robust structural integrity.
- Electrical installation: Total comprehensive cable laying and termination of 375KM with cable tray fabrication, panel installation, earthing, I/O testing, and system loop checks — ensuring seamless integration and safe power distribution across the site.
- Piping and welding services: Fabrication and erection of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication lines, pressure-tested to the highest standards of leak integrity with a total of 1 lakh inch meter.
Precision, safety, and scale: Executing a project of this magnitude required high-capacity lifting systems, including 700-tonne and 250-tonne mobile cranes. Every stage was governed by Beck & Pollitzer’s rigorous method statements, risk assessments, and safety management plans, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-schedule delivery.
