Sea shipping of machinery equipment

Beck & Pollitzer have completed a highly specialised operation at the port of one of Russia’s largest intermodal transport operators.

The works involved preparing cranes for loading and unloading pontoon-type barges by dismantling and reinstalling berthing fenders, devices responsible for absorbing the kinetic energy created from mooring ships.

The complex machinery shipping operation was carried out with the utmost attention paid to health and safety by the Beck & Pollitzer team. The project also involved monitoring cranes movement, both during assembly and as they rolled on and off the barges.

After the barges were loaded and shipped to St Petersburg, Beck & Pollitzer Russia then supported the unloading process, marking the safe and successful completion of a very technical task made simple by the superb professionalism of the Beck & Pollitzer team.
